On November 3rd, an outstanding team of Chinese student teachers selected by Liupanshui Normal University successfully arrived in Bangkok, Thailand, embarking on a months-long teaching internship at multiple local partner schools. Tasked with promoting Chinese language and Chinese culture, the team is set to inject youthful vitality into China-Thailand cultural and educational exchanges. 

This overseas internship in Thailand is a key initiative of Liupanshui Normal University to deepen international cooperation in education and advance the cultivation of practical talents. The student teachers will showcase the professional competence and spiritual outlook of Chinese youth in Thai classrooms, using Chinese as a bridge to strengthen the bond between Chinese and Thai cultures and promote mutual understanding between the two peoples. 

On the departure day, teachers from the university’s School of International Education urged the students: “We hope you will adapt to the new environment as soon as possible, translate your professional knowledge into teaching practice, and become warm ambassadors of Chinese language and culture.” After a several-hour flight, the team arrived in Bangkok, where representatives from Thai partner institutions—including Bangkok University Demonstration School and Pathum Thani College of Education—were already waiting at the airport. Holding welcome signs and greeting them warmly with the Thai phrase “Sawatdee ka,” they instantly relieved the students of their travel fatigue. “We felt the enthusiasm of Thai friends as soon as we got off the plane, like returning to a familiar place,” shared the students. The thoughtful arrangements by the Thai side have filled everyone with anticipation for the upcoming teaching life. 

Upon arriving at the Thai partner schools, the Thai side held a brief yet warm welcome ceremony for the student teachers and made proper accommodation arrangements—clean dormitories, complete living facilities, and daily necessities gift packs prepared by the school. Every detail made the students feel “the warmth of home.” The beautiful campuses and friendly teachers and students have boosted their confidence and expectation for the upcoming teaching work. 

A new journey has begun. We look forward to these young Chinese language ambassadors gaining valuable teaching experience, personal growth, and profound friendships in Thailand, allowing the flower of Chinese language to bloom brightly in a foreign land. Moving forward, Liupanshui Normal University will continue to closely track the internship progress, provide necessary support, and share the students’ teaching stories and growth moments through official channels. Brief Background 

This teaching internship program is part of the long-term cooperative framework between Liupanshui Normal University and renowned educational institutions in Thailand, established in 2024 to promote bilateral cultural and educational exchanges. As a core component of the university’s practical education system for language majors, the program aims to enhance students’ cross-cultural teaching capabilities, foster international perspectives, and contribute to the global promotion of Chinese language. Over the past two years, 16 student teachers from the university have participated in similar internships in Thailand, receiving positive feedback from local schools and communities for their professional performance and dedication.
